Is Strength Training Better Than a Cardio Workout
Interesting enough both cardio and strength training are very important parts of the DIYFIT Program. Cardio is know to burn more calories than weight-training. However strength training may help maintain your metabolism at a higher level after your workout is complete. Strength training is better at building muscle and studies show that it is very effective at developing bone density.
DIYFIT Strength Training Routines using Equipment
The typical weight training routines will vary. The amount of repetitions will vary from 8 to 15, as will the amount of sets 1 to 3.
Other factors are the amount of weight, if a heavier weight is used typically the amount of repetitions will be lower. This type of routine will work on increasing strength. And the lower the weights used will allow for more repetitions. This type of routine focus on improving the endurance of muscles.
Remember to gradually increase your weights and repetitions so that the muscles are fatigued. You always want to give your muscles time to recover this is between sets as well as between workouts.
